If you are a warm- blooded mammal, you have at one point in your life received or sent a "hey buddy" message. Whether by facebook or by text, this seemly innocent message is used as a chance to step a foot into your life. Usually the person just wants to talk to catch up with your life and see how you're doing. Be careful ladies, this is your undoing, your kryptonite. A man* who just wants to hear about you and he initiated the conversation! He wants nothing else, but to hear about your happiness. Right?? Or does he have some shady alternative to see if he could still have you if he wants?
Let's travel back in time....
Source: Boyfriend declares if we are to move to the next level I may not talk to any exes, any men that may like me and no unnamed numbers in my cellphone (this dates back to a problem in the beginning of our relationship). If you know anything about you know I didn't take the declaration lightly. I told him sometimes men (exes) just say "hey buddy" to be friends and check up on you and your life, not to steal you away from your man or make plans to hang out. A few days later, I just dropped the whole topic. The rules made sense and created peace so I could work with them.
A few weeks later boyfriend asked to use my computer to check facebook and "oops" forgets to sign off. SIDE NOTE: I don't believe in snooping, but I also don't believe in missed opportunities! So I may have checked his facebook messages. Well, lookie here! He had "hey buddy" messages! Recent ones! That he had written! Did I get mad? NOOOO....I actually had to laugh. His messages were truly innocent and caring. So when he came back over my house, I told him about the found messages. He admitted that maybe not all men send "hey buddy" messages to see if they can still get in your panties. And I admitted that most men do, though.
SIDENOTE: All relationships are not the same!!! Do not try to take my example and try to apply it to your situation!
